SHEFFIELD UNITED are looking for a new Under-23 boss following the departure of Andrew Hughes after just one season at the club.

The 42-year-old joined the Blades last August and replaced Travis Binnion, who had also doubled up as Academy Manager.

Hughes, who played more than 500 senior games, had previously been first-team coach at Huddersfield Town.

When Hughes was appointed by United, newly-appointed Academy Manager Jack Lester said: "Andrew will bring a load of positivity and energy to the Academy, and is a highly skilled and experienced coach, we are delighted to have secured this appointment."

The Category Two Academy is now adverting for a new U23 lead coach with a “proven track record of player development and have experience of first team football either as a coach or a player.”
