Peter Thompson: Joined Leicester as Recruitment Data Scientist in March

Peter Thompson has been promoted to Lead Data Scientist by Leicester City.
He replaces Edd Webster, who left in June to join Ludonautics, the analytics consultancy set up by former Liverpool Head of Research Ian Graham. Thompson first joined Leicester in March this year as a Recruitment Data Scientist.
Prior to this he had worked for Southampton for three years, as a Data Analyst/ Scientist. Writing on LinkedIn, he said: “I’m pleased to share that I’ve been promoted to Lead Data Scientist at Leicester City. I’m excited to continue contributing to the club’s success in this new role.”
Leicester’s first Head of Analytics was Mladen Sormaz, who joined in April 2019 and is now Sporting Director at Barnsley. His successor was Edd Webster, who joined in April 2023 from LEGO Group.
