Morgan appointed senior physio at Arsenal

FORMER Crystal Palace and Liverpool physio Chris Morgan has joined Arsenal.
Morgan, whose title will be senior first-team physio, left Palace in May this year after after 16 months in post. At the time, club doctor Zaf Iqbal announced that his head physio had “decided to return up North for another challenge.”
While Arsenal is admittedly north of Palace, this wasn’t exactly what he had in mind. Morgan had been set to join Manchester City's Academy, only to subsequently be offered the Arsenal job by new Head of Medical Gary O'Driscoll.
Meanwhile, Tim Parham, the Head of Rehab at Port Adelaide, where Burgess worked before joining the Gunners in July last year, is moving to the Emirates before the start of the season.
Parham would be part of an almost entirely new medical team for 2018/19. Head of Medical Colin Lewin was sacked at the end of 2017/18 after 23 years at the club and replaced by club doctor O’Driscoll.
All the first-team physios from last season have exited over the summer. Experienced duo Ben Ashworth and Andrew Rolls were made redundant as part of the department revamp. And TGG can also reveal that James Haycock has left in the last few weeks.
Portuguese Paulo Barreira came in towards the end of last season and is now joined by Morgan and Parham.
