Physios Ashworth and Rolls depart Arsenal

EXPERIENCED physios Ben Ashworth and Andrew Rolls have been made redundant by Arsenal as part of the medical department restructuring carried out by Head of Elite Performance Darren Burgess.
Head of Medical Colin Lewin departed as part of the restructure last month. The trio of first-team physios under him - James Haycock being the other - were asked to reapply for their jobs.
Haycock has been retained, while Ashworth and Rolls have been made redundant. Ashworth has been with the Gunners since August 2012, having previously worked as the lead physio for British Judo for three years.
Prior to that he worked for the English Institute of Sport and the British Olympic Association.
Rolls is also highly experienced, having worked at first-team level for West Ham and Watford before joining Arsenal in February 2013.
Arsenal are still in the process of looking for a replacement for Lewin. Burgess was appointed last July and tasked with undertaking a thorough review of the medical and performance departments at the club.
New manager Unai Emery is yet to announce his assistants.
