MANCHESTER UNITED have confirmed that Head Physio Robin Sadler will leave the club on February 29th and have thanked him for his “dedicated service”.
Last week TGG reported that Sadler, whose full title is Head of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation, was leaving United after three years. That news has now been confirmed by the club.
“Robin has decided that the time is now right for him to explore new opportunities,” United told TGG. “We are sad to see Robin go, but we want to take this opportunity to thank him for his dedicated service during the time he has been with the club and wish him all the very best for the future.”
During his time with United, Sadler oversaw significant progress in the alignment of physio and rehab services across the men’s, women’s and Academy sides.
He reported to three different managers - Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Ralf Rangnick and Erik ten Hag - and was part of the team that won the 2023 Carabao Cup and reached the final of the Europa League in 2021.
His exit is part of a restructure of United’s medical department by new Head of Sports Medicine Gary O’Driscoll, who arrived at United in September 2023 after 15 years at Arsenal, although the club insist the parting has been an amicable one.
