WEST BROM Head of Academy Sports Science and Medicine, Nick Irwin, is leaving the club to join the Academy Audit Company.

Irwin will be the Medical Performance Support Auditor for the Professional Game Academy Audit Company, which took over from Double Pass at the start of this season.

He replaces Rich Buchanan, who left after only a few months to become Head of Performance for Cypriot side Pafos at the start of the year.

The Sports Science Support Auditor, Damian Roden, also left after less than a year, to become Head of Performance at Anderlecht last month. The recruitment process for that role is currently in progress.

Irwin had been with West Brom since November 2018, having previously spent two years with Millwall. He has also worked for Cambridge and Watford. The Baggies are currently advertising for his replacement.
