Waller leaves Rangers to become Head of Medicine at Leicester City
Waller was first-team doctor at Rangers for four years

MARK WALLER has left Rangers after four years to become Head of Medicine at Leicester City.
The hugely experienced doctor replaces Bryan English, who left the club at the end of last season and joined Middlesbrough.
Before English’s appointment in 2020, Foxes boss Brendan Rodgers explained: “We were the only club that didn’t have a full-time doctor. Our idea was to revamp the medical team and bring in a Head of Medicine."
Waller has worked in top-level professional football for three decades. He was doctor at Liverpool from 1993 to 2010 and diagnosed the seriousness of manager Gerard Houllier’s chest pains during half time of the league game against Leeds United in October 2001.
Waller went on the be doctor with the England Under-21s, Al Jazira, Aston Villa, Hull City and, from July 2018, Rangers.
Meanwhile, Jon Urwin has exited Norwich City after three years to become Head Physio at Waller's former club, Rangers. Urwin, who has also worked for Reading, West Ham and QPR, had been first-team physio with the Canaries since June 2019.
The Scottish giants are also currently advertising on TGG for a first-team physio.
