Vio appointed as Tottenham's first set piece coach

GIANNI VIO has been appointed as Tottenham’s first ever set piece coach.

The Italian, 69, is a pioneer of the role and was the first specialist set piece coach in English football during his time with Brentford in 2015/16.

He first made his name with Italian side Catania, where he was known as ‘the little wizard’, before moving to Fiorentina, AC Milan, Palermo, DC United, Brentford and Leeds United.

Since September 2020 he has worked with Roberto Mancini and the Italian national team, helping them win the Euros last year. As TGG reported yesterday, Luis Pinho has joined Spurs as a first-team physio after a year with Nottingham Forest.
