Stern joins Brighton as Assistant Goalkeeping Coach

JACK STERN has joined Brighton as their new Assistant Goalkeeping Coach.
He replaces Casper Ankergren, who left the Seagulls after 11 years as player and coach in October to become Head of Goalkeeping at Danish side Brondby.
Stern, who joins Albion on January 11th, has worked in the MLS for the last seven years. He was Head of Goalkeeping at Montreal from 2014 before going to FC Cincinnati in 2018.
Brighton’s first-team goalkeeping coach, Ben Roberts, said: “After Casper Ankergren’s departure in October we carried out a thorough interview process after more than one hundred high quality applications.
“Jack was a stand-out candidate. He is an experienced coach who has a great record of developing young goalkeepers. I have followed Jack’s career over the past decade, having first crossed paths 12 years ago when he was starting out on his coaching badges.”
Stern was an Academy player at Wimbledon and played for Burgess Hill Town and Lewes before focusing on a coaching career from the age of 21. The Uefa A Licence coach worked at West Brom’s Academy before moving to North America.
