DAMIAN RODEN, who has been Stoke City’s Head of Sport Science since July 2013, has been appointed as Director of High Performance at the Seattle Sounders.

Roden is a prominent figure within the football performance industry, having also been Head of Performance with QPR and Wales and Head of Sport Science at Manchester City.

He is the latest practitioner to swap the Premier League for the MLS.


Tottenham fitness and reconditioning coach Anton McElhone was recently appointed Head of Fitness at the New England Revolution, while Jonny Northeast, Swansea’s former Head of Sports Science, has joined DC United.
