Nuno dedicates award to backroom staff who paved way for return

WOLVES Head Coach Nuno Espirito Santo dedicated his manager of the month award for June to five members of backroom staff who paved the way for the team to return to the training ground in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Portuguese boss stood back as Lead Soft Tissue Therapist Matt Wignall accepted his award. Wignall was flanked by (above, left to right) Strength and Conditioning Coach Sean Miller, Sports Scientist Tom Male, doctor Matt Perry and security officer Paul Binnall.

This was the second time that Nuno has won the award and it came after he oversaw an unbeaten five-match run in the Premier League, including four wins, either side of the suspension of the season.

He topped a four-man shortlist that also featured Steve Bruce, Frank Lampard and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. The result of the public vote was combined with votes from a panel of football experts to decide the winner.
