EVERTON'S Head of Academy Coaching, Sean Lundon, has left the club after 21 years to work for Italian wearable tracking firm gpexe.

The 51-year-old joined the club in 1999 as a part-time Academy coach and progressed through the ranks to become Youth Development Phase Lead and then, in 2016, Head of Academy Coaching.

The role involved overseeing the development and delivery of the coaching staff and managing and monitoring the coaching programme.

Now he has left for a "new adventure helping professional football and professional rugby clubs improve performance, reduce injury risk and manage the return to play."

Former Everton midfielder John Ebbrell was appointed as the new Head of Coaching in November, while Lundon formally left the club last month.

"I'm glad to be working alongside the gpexe team," Lundon said. "Over recent years the use of GPS technology has had a significant influence on my work as a Head of Coaching.

"I look forward to an exciting future continuing to help athlete/team development with the use of the best technology."
