EWAN SHARP, who was a coach-analyst under Ralf Rangnick at Manchester last season, has been appointed as Jesse Marsch's assistant at Leeds United.

The 30-year-old Scot worked for United from December 2021 to the end of last season, before Rangnick departed. He has previously worked at Lokomotiv Moscow and at New York Red Bulls from 2017 to 2021, which is where he worked with Leeds boss Jesse Marsch.

Pierre Barrieu has also joined Leeds, from Toronto FC, as Head Fitness Coach and Performance Analyst. The Frenchman is hugely experienced, having been a fitness coach for the US national team, LA Galaxy, New York Red Bulls, Swansea City, Sheffield Wednesday and Le Havre.

Meanwhile, assistant manager Frankie Schiemer, who joined along with Marsch at the end of February, will leave his role on a day-to-day basis but continue to work with the club “as a coaching consultant from afar.”

Marsch’s other assistants, Mark Jackson and Cameron Toshack, have agreed new contracts with Leeds.
