Former Liverpool coach Robinson named Head of Goalkeeping by US Soccer

Former Liverpool coach Jack Robinson has been appointed Head of Goalkeeping for US Soccer as the federation continue to build a strong British influence ahead of hosting the 2026 Men’s World Cup.

Robinson was Assistant Goalkeeper Coach for the Reds for six seasons, taking in 330 games and eight trophies, before leaving at the end of last season. Prior to Liverpool he worked for the Football Association, Manchester United and Leeds United.

Writing on LinkedIn, the Englishman said: “I am delighted to be joining US Soccer as Head of Goalkeeping in what is an exciting time for the men’s and women’s game both on and off the pitch. My aim is to challenge, inspire and engage with the goalkeeping community to help the national teams, coaches and players in the short and long term.”

Welshman Matt Crocker, formerly of Southampton and the Football Association, has been US Soccer’s Technical Director since August 2023. Last season he recruited Southampton Assistant Academy Director Natasha Patel to become Director of Sporting Analytics.

Former Tottenham and Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino is to be appointed as the new Head Coach of the US Men's team, while ex-Chelsea boss Emma Hayes has been in charge of the Women’s team since May and led them to gold at the recent Paris Olympics.
