LEE DARNBROUGH has been appointed to the newly-created role of Head of Recruitment by Hull City.

Darnbrough left Norwich City, where he was Head of Scouting, in April following a restructure by new Sporting Director Stuart Webber.

At Hull, he will effectively fill the void left by former chief scout Stan Ternent, who departed in January when manager Mike Phelan was sacked. Darnbrough was on the first cohort of the Master of Sporting Directorship course at Manchester Metropolitan University, achieving a distinction.

He previously held recruitment and analysis roles at Burnley and West Brom. Earlier this month former Academy boss Tony Pennock rejoined Hull as first-team coach and Pat Mountain arrived as goalkeeping coach.
