Dan Micciche reaches settlement with Football Association

ENGLAND UNDER-16 boss Dan Micciche has reached settlement with the Football Association after being on gardening leave since the start of September.

An FA statement read: “The FA would like to thank Dan for all his excellent work and contribution to the success of our England development teams since his arrival at St. George’s Park in August 2013. The FA would like to wish him all the best in his future pursuits in the game.”

The reasons for Micciche’s departure have not been disclosed and neither party is discussing the situation as part of the terms of the settlement. Micciche was MK Dons’ assistant academy manager from October 2007 to August 2013, playing a key role in the development of Dele Alli.

In fact the England midfielder has frequently namechecked his former coach in interviews and the duo have stayed in contact since Alli left Milton Keynes. With the England Under-16s, Micciche worked with the likes of Jadon Sancho, Ryan Sessegnon and Angel Gomes.

The team won the Nike International Tournament in Florida in December 2015, beating Brazil along the way, although Micchiche has always prioritised development over results for his young players.
