LIVERPOOL have appointed Jack Robinson as their new first-team goalkeeper coach to assist John Achterberg.
Robinson is currently serving his notice period with the Football Association, where he has been national goalkeeper coach for the Under-15 to U17 age group since March 2016.
Prior to that he was Manchester United’s goalkeeper coach. Although his primary responsibility was for the U9 to U16 ages, he also assisted Eric Steele with the first team and keepers including David de Gea.
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp felt that Achterberg, who has been at Liverpool since 2011, needed assistance with the club’s four first-team keepers - Alisson, Simon Mignolet, Kamil Grabara and Caoimhin Kelleher.
The German has made several changes to his backroom staff since the end of last season. Pepijn Ljinders returned from a stint as manager of NEC Nijmegen to become one of Klopp's assistants, following the departure of his long-time lieutenant Zjelko Buvac.
Philipp Jacobsen came in to take up the new role of Performance Manager, while physio Ruben Pons was sacked. Dane Thomas Grønnemark has also been contracted as a specialist throw-in coach.
