WEST BROM Director of Performance Mark Gillett has resigned to take up a new role at Nottingham Forest.

Gillett arrived at the club from British Basketball in January 2010. He was initially Head of Sport Science and Medicine, before being promoted to Head of Performance in October 2013.

“It wasn’t an easy decision to leave, but after eight years I needed a new challenge and wanted to tackle something with renewed energy,” Gillett, who was previously first-team doctor at Chelsea, told the Express and Star newspaper. “It was a tough season for everybody.”

West Brom have undergone a complete overhaul behind the scenes in the last 12 months and were relegated from the Premier League at the end of the season.

  • Martin Goodman sacked as chief executive in February and replaced by Mark Jenkins.
  • Chairman John Williams sacked in February and replaced by Li Piyue.
  • Three managers during 2017/18, with caretaker Darren Moore getting the job permanently at the end of the season. Moore is looking for an assistant.
  • Nick Hammond sacked as Director of Football in April. Temporary replacement Giuliano Terraneo brought in.
  • Director of Football Administration Richard Garlick left in April to become Director of Football at the Premier League.
  • Fitness coach Matt Green left in November 2017 to become Premier League Performance Manager.
