FITNESS COACH Matt Green has left West Brom after 10 years to become Elite Performance Manager at the Premier League.
Green joined the Baggies straight from Liverpool John Moores University in January 2008 to become a research student.
He was promoted first to Head of Academy Sports Science and then to First Team Fitness Coach in February 2011 under manager Roy Hodgson.
Green was a key part of a department that boasted the fewest number of days lost to injuries in the Premier League last season.
The job of Elite Performance Manager has been created to support the Premier League’s “mission of developing more and better homegrown players”.
One such job was advertised in July, but in the end two were given out - the other incumbent being Sunderland’s James McCarron.
Both men will report to Andy O’Boyle, the Premier League's Head of Elite Performance, who was recruited from Liverpool in April.
