DEAN WRIGHT has been appointed as Assistant Academy Manager by Norwich City.

He was previously Football Foundation Phase Coach at Huddersfield Town before the post was closed when the Terriers decided to stop running any teams below Under-18 level.

Wright has been appointed by Academy Manager Steve Weaver, who also brought him in at Huddersfield.

Their ultimate boss then, as it will be now, was Sporting Director Stuart Webber, who joined the Canaries from Huddersfield in April.

Weaver said: “He [Wright] put together an excellent programme that fits in with the way we want to do it at Norwich City, and understands exactly what Stuart Webber and I are trying to do.

“It’s also really important for the Club to bring people from outside of Norfolk, and people who have been in different environments.”

Webber and Weaver overhauled Norwich's Academy last month, leading to several staff losing their jobs.
