CALLUM WALSH has left Huddersfield Town to become the new Head of Sport Science at Newcastle United.

He replaces Jamie Harley, who left the Magpies after 11 years at the end of last season. Walsh joined Huddersfield in October 2018 as their Senior Physical Performance Coach and was promoted to Head of Performance in September 2020.

Prior to that he worked for Aspire, EXOS, Wigan, Cardiff and Liverpool. Huddersfield are expected to announce his replacement shortly.

Writing on LinkedIn, Walsh said: "As with all football journeys, it’s been a rollercoaster of emotions, especially with everything the last 18 months has thrown at us.

"Felt lucky to work with a simply incredible, hard working and talented group of staff. Loved every minute at the club. Once a terrier always a terrier."
