JORDAN TRIBE has left Brighton after 11 years to become Coach-Analyst at Newcastle United.

He succeeds Mark Leyland, who left in July after 18 months to become Head of Coaching Methodology at City Football Group. The new role, which recognised the merging of coaching and analysis and saw Leyland heavily involved on the training ground and on match day, had been deemed a big success by manager Eddie Howe.

Speaking about Leyland in April 2022, the Magpies boss said: “He has had a big impact He's played a huge part in what we've done this season. He's one of a number of people behind the scenes that have put a tireless amount of work in to try and improve the team.

"We love him to bits and he's been an integral part of our team.”

Leyland will be our next guest on the TGG Podcast, with the episode out next week.

Newcastle advertised the Coach-Analyst role on TGG towards the end of last season and stated, “We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and innovative Coach-Analyst to work closely with our First Team coaching staff to drive and deliver best-in-class 'on pitch' performance.

Dan Ashworth will be speaking at TGG Live in Manchester on October 9th. To find out more about this special two-day event and to buy tickets, click the button below

In October 2015, he joined the first-team set-up as a Performance Analyst and in November 2018 he was promoted to Senior Performance Analyst.

Newcastle Sporting Director Dan Ashworth knows Tribe well from his time with the Seagulls from 2018 to 2022.
