SCOTT MUNN has been appointed Chief Football Officer at Tottenham and will “take charge of all footballing departments.”

Spurs said the appointment was the result of “an ongoing review over the past six months of all of our footballing activities” and that “changes have been made and further improvements continue to ensure future progress and competitiveness.”

The club have advised that Australian Munn will not be replacing Fabio Paratici, the Italian Managing Director of Football, who is currently suspended from football after his former club, Juventus, were found guilty of false accounting, market manipulation and filing misleading financial statements.

Instead, Paratici will report into Munn. However, it is hard not to see this as an effective replacement. When Paratici joined the club, in July 2021, he was said to be “responsible for managing and developing the club’s sporting operations, facilities and footballing infrastructure.”

Scott started his career with the Sydney Organising Committee for the 2000 Olympic Games and then joined the National Rugby League and Australia Football League.

In 2010, he was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Melbourne City FC and in 2019 as Executive Officer of City Football Group China.

Tottenham Chairman Daniel Levy said: “Scott has a unique and broad experience of running sporting organisations at the highest level and will take responsibility for the leadership and management of our football activities to instil best practice both on and off the pitch.”

Performance Director Gretar Steinsson and his assistant Andy Scoulding have been filling in for Paratici since he stepped down from his role following his suspension by FIFA last week.
