TGG Live: Youth Development Conference

ON September 20th we're returning with our first in-person event for three years.
The Youth Development Conference will be a celebration of the best in youth development, with insights from home and abroad. We have top speakers who will give insights into the latest innovations and best practice in Academies:
- Professor Matthias Lochmann: Drove through revolutionary changes in coaching/ game formats in Germany's foundation phase. He'll be outlining exactly what these are, the reasons for them and what other countries can learn.
- Alex Inglethorpe: Liverpool's Academy Manager since 2014. Will be telling us about the club's new AIR programme.
- Iain Brunnschweiler: Southampton's Head of Technical Development. Will be taking us inside the club's unique Learning Lab.
- Gregg Broughton: Blackburn Rovers Director of Football and former Academy Director Bodø/Glimt. Gregg will be explaining how you embed youth development within a club's strategy.
- Charlotte Healy: Manchester United Women's Academy Manager will be giving insights into run a leading female youth programme.
- Sally Needham: Human Development and Performance Culture Lead at Sheffield United.
- Ged Roddy MBE: Architect of the modern Academy system as Director of Youth at the Premier League. Now a High Performance Expert for Fifa.
- Perry Walters: Co-founder, IDYOMS. Former youth coach & psychology consultant at Bristol City and a visiting fellow at Bristol University.
This full-day event is being held at Emirates Old Trafford in Manchester on Tuesday September 20th. Josh Schneider-Weiler will also be revealing TGG's annual Academy Productivity Rankings.
SPEAKERS
Alex Inglethorpe is the Academy Manager at Liverpool. He joined the Reds in 2012 as Under-21s Head Coach following six years at Tottenham. In 2014, Alex was promoted to his current role and has overseen a period of great success for the Academy, with several homegrown players going on to feature in Liverpool's first team under Brendan Rodgers and then Jurgen Klopp.

Iain Brunnschweiler is Head of Technical Development at Southampton. He was Head of Talent & Performance Coaching at UK Coaching and a Development Programme Coach with the ECB before joining Saints in November 2017. Iain is also part of the leadership group for the Southampton Learning Lab and appeared on Episode #39 of the TGG Podcast.
Charlotte Healy is the Academy Manager for Manchester United Women and Head Coach of their Under-21s. Charlotte joined United in June 2019, having been Women's U21s boss at Manchester City and U23s assistant at Liverpool.

Matthias Lochmann is a Professor at the Department of Sport Science and Sport at the University of Erlangen–Nuremberg. He is a former professional player and Uefa A Licence coach and has played a pivotal role in the formulation of the DFB's new regulations for the coaching of Under-11s in Germany.
Gregg Broughton is the Director of Football at Blackburn Rovers. Before joining the club he was Academy Director at Norwegian club Bodø/Glimt, who have become the leading side in Scandinavia. He has also been Academy Manager and Head of Academy Recruitment at Norwich City and Academy Manager at Luton Town. Gregg appeared on Episode #32 of the TGG Podcast.
Sally Needham is Human Development and Performance Culture Lead at Sheffield United's Academy. She holds the Uefa A Licence and Advanced Youth Award and is a Thrive practitioner who has studied the latest theory on neuroscience, child development and attachment theory and applied it in football. Prior to joining the Blades Sally worked for the Football Association for 15 years as a tutor and coach developer.
Dr Perry Walters is co-founder of IDYOMS, the Institute for Development of Young Minds in Sport. He is a former coach and psychology consultant at Bristol City and a visiting fellow at Bristol University.
Ged Roddy MBE is the architect of the modern Academy system. In 2009 he became the first Director of Youth at the Premier League and three years later launched the Elite Player Performance Plan (EPPP), which transformed youth development in this country. He went on to become Academy Manager at Reading and Technical Director at Charlton and is now a High Performance Expert for Fifa.
