TGG Live: The Future Game

THE FUTURE GAME is a full-day webinar exploring how football and elite sport should evolve post-pandemic and beyond.

England Rugby coach Eddie Jones will be among a stellar group of speakers that also includes Dave Reddin MBE, Tom Vernon, Sarah Murray, David Sumpter, Lorraine O'Malley, David Slemen and Ben Mackriell.

Between them, they will be future-gazing, looking at future developments in leadership, coaching, psychology, data science and performance.

The Future Game is on Wednesday August 26th via Zoom. There will be morning and afternoon sessions, with questions from the floor at the end of each talk.

Buying a ticket gets you access to the entire day. After buying a ticket through Eventbrite, you get a unique Zoom URL, with reminders in the run-up to the event.

The event will be recorded, so ticket-holders can watch it on-demand if they are unable to attend the whole session live on the day.

SPEAKERS

EDDIE JONES

Eddie is one of the most recognisable and successful coaches in the whole of world sport. The Australian has worked with England since 2015 and led them to the final of the 2019 Rugby World Cup. He has also been in charge of Australia and Japan and was South Africa assistant when they won the 2007 RWC. The Australian spoke to us about his philosophy for episode #10 of the TGG Podcast.

DAVE REDDIN MBE

A leading figure in UK sports performance for two decades. Was fitness coach with England Rugby when they won the 2003 RWC, Head of Performance for the BOA during London 2012, and Head of Team Strategy and Performance for the Football Association for five years. Dave told us about his journey in #4 of the TGG Podcast.

TOM VERNON

Tom set up the Right to Dream Academy in Ghana in 1999 with the aim of changing the lives of African youngsters. Two decades on, many graduates have gone on to have careers with top European clubs. But the Academy is about more than just football, providing a unique curriculum with an emphasis on character development. Since 2015, Tom has also been chairman of Danish club FC Nordsjaelland. DAVID SUMPTER

David is Professor of Applied Mathematics at the University of Uppsala in Sweden. He is also the author of several books on maths and statistics, including the best-selling Soccermatics. He works as a data scientist for Swedish side Hammarby.

SARAH MURRAY

Sarah has worked as a performance psychologist for Brighton for more than seven years. Last season she was Performance Psychology Manager, but will move over to work specifically for Hope Powell's Women's Super League team this summer.

LORRAINE O'MALLEY

Lorraine is part of the loans department at City Football Group, providing performance psychology and wellbeing support for player and staff.

She previously worked with Manchester City Women for two years, providing sport psychology support.

DAVID SLEMEN

David is a former professional rugby player and founded Elite Performance Partners in 2014. The firm specialises in selection and advice around performance in elite sport and has clients in the Premier League and EFL, as well as in rugby, tennis, cycling and cricket. David has written a series of articles on the key roles for high-performing teams for TGG.

BEN MACKRIELL

Ben is the VP of Pro Products for StatsPerform. Before joining the company in 2016, he was a Technical Scout for Burnley, Norwich and Reading and a Performance Analyst at Fulham.
