LEADING experts will be exploring Modern Leadership at TGG Live at Emirates Old Trafford on Thursday April 23rd.
This one-day conference will give insights into how to effectively lead teams of both players and staff in the modern game, from Academy to senior level, from amateur to professional.
We will be looking at a range of issues, including how to:
- Develop a good culture
- Build resilience
- Empower players
- Foster creativity and experimentation
- Communicate effectively with 'Generation Z'
- Use technology to aid learning
- Understand the changing neurology of the adolescent brain
The cost of a ticket is £99 (inclusive of VAT) and includes a buffet lunch, refreshments and conference materials. There will be networking opportunities over drinks at the end of the day.

SPEAKERS
DR PIPPA GRANGE
Pippa, who is Head of Cultural Strategy for FC Nordsjælland and the Right to Dream Academy, describes herself as a “culture coach” who works on resilience and “the soul of the team”.
She was Head of People and Team Development at the Football Association from 2017 to 2019, which involved being performance psychologist for England at the 2018 World Cup in Russia. Pippa will be explaining why sustained winning is underpinned by good culture and why quality relationships are at the heart of all successful teams.
BRIAN ASHTON MBE
Brian was Head Coach of the England rugby team from 2006 to 2008 and led them to the final of the 2007 Rugby World Cup. He now works as a coaching consultant for the likes of Manchester United, the Premier League and International Rugby Academy of New Zealand.
His coaching philosophy is underpinned by a street games approach, which means "giving players a sense of engagement by encouraging experimentation and sharing decision-making and planning”.
Brian will be explaining how, as a coach, “you prepare the way, giving players the tools, resources and opportunities” to be able to do this.

DAN MICCICHE
Arsenal’s Under-16 Head Coach is regarded as one of the most innovative coaches in Academy football.
He was England U15/16 Head Coach from 2013 to 2017 and manager of MK Dons. At Modern Leadership, Dan will explore how to foster creativity in young players, the balance between development and results, and explain the importance of video as a learning tool.

DAVID WEBB
Webb has been Head of Football Operations since August 2019 and was formerly Technical Director at Swedish side Ostersunds.
He has significant experience in recruitment, having been Head of Elite Potential Identification at Tottenham and Head of First Team Recruitment at Bournemouth.
On April 23rd, he will be talking about how to recruit to fit the values of your organisation.

DR LORRAINE O'MALLEY
As part of the City Football Loans Department, Lorraine provides performance psychology and wellbeing support at player, staff and club level.
Prior to this, she worked with Manchester City Women for two years, providing sport psychology support.
At the event, Lorraine will be giving insight into the player-centred approach and how modern leadership is co-created by both player and staff.
DR PERRY WALTERS
Perry is a coach and psychology consultant at Bristol City and a visiting fellow at Bristol University. He will be explaining the changes in neurology of the adolescent brain and how this knowledge should influence your coaching.
