Paul Tanner: Head of Medical at Millwall for last seven years

Paul Tanner has been appointed as the new Head of Medical at Bristol City, replacing Andrew Proctor.

Tanner joins from Millwall, where he has been Head of Medical Services for the last seven years. He started his career at Gloucester Rugby in 2008 and then worked for Wasps Rugby and Norwich City.

Tanner said: “It’s an exciting time to be joining the club. It’s clear that there is some excellent work going on behind the scenes and I’m looking forward to working with the Head Coach and backroom staff.

“I’m optimistic about some positive changes we can make to the medical department and look forward to what promises to be an exciting season.”

Proctor joined the Robins in the summer of 2018 as Lead Physio and was promoted to Interim Head of Medical in November 2023.

Writing on LinkedIn, he said: “Six years and over 300 games later, time to say goodbye to Bristol City. Some amazing memories and friends made, with plenty of laughs along the way. Time for a new challenge.”
