ROBBIE STOCKDALE and James Morrison have joined Sam Allardyce's staff at West Brom as first-team coaches.

Stockdale, 41, worked under Allardyce as first-team coach at Sunderland for nine months in 2015/16, having been promoted from Under-21s boss by the manager.

Since leaving the Black Cats in June 2019, after six years at the club, he worked as first-team coach at Hibernian under Paul Heckingbottom until they were sacked in November 2019.

Morrison, who made 341 appearances for the Baggies, has been working as U23s assistant at the club since retiring from playing in October 2019.

Allardyce, 66, replaced Slaven Bilic as West Brom Head Coach on Wednesday and has now finalised his backroom staff - for the time being at least. His long-time assistant Sammy Lee. with whom he worked at Bolton, England, Crystal Palace and Everton, will once again be alongside him.

And Head of Performance Nick Davies and goalkeeper coach Gary Walsh remain from the previous regime.

When Bilic was sacked on Wednesday, three staff went with him - assistants Dean Racunica and Danilo Butorovic and first-team coach Julian Dicks.

Butorovic, who also served under Bilic at West Ham and Al-Ittihad as well as at The Hawthorns, posted a message to West Brom fans via his Instagram account on Wednesday.

“Eighteen months of joy and happiness, pride, dedication and those amazing bittersweet moments that make you enjoy digging even deeper to get things done,” he wrote.

“The night of the promotion to the Premier League is one that will stick with me unforgettably, forever. Thank you to all the players, you are an incredible bunch and I feel privileged to have had the opportunity to work with every one of you! I wish you all the best in your careers and hope to come across you many times more."

Bilic had been in charge of the Baggies since June 2019 and led them to promotion to the Premier League at his first attempt.
