Ben Stevens has been promoted to Assistant Sporting Director by Crystal Palace.

Stevens has worked for the Eagles for almost a decade and been Head of Performance and Recruitment Analysis for the last six years.

In this new role he will work closely with Sporting Director Dougie Freedman, who has been with Palace for seven years and recently signed a new contract with the club.

Freedman has developed a strong reputation for unearthing young talent and former Palace Assistant Dave Reddington recently told TGG: “Dougie has done a fantastic job in terms of recruitment and has a great eye for a player. He wanted us all work hard and made it clear that it’s all about mentality.”

Before joining Palace in January 2015, Stevens worked for Newcastle for four years, becoming their Head of Performance Analysis.

He was a speaker at TGG’s Scouting and Recruitment Webinar in 2022.
