KIERAN SCOTT is leaving Norwich City after four years to become Middlesbrough’s first Head of Football.
The 37-year-old joined the Canaries as Head of Domestic Scouting from Burnley in April 2017, before becoming Head of Recruitment later that year. He had previously worked for Wolves, as Head of Academy Recruitment, and for Rangers.
Scott officially joins Boro at the start of September and the Championship outfit said: “Kieran brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the club and we look forward to welcoming him to MFC.”
Scott worked closely with Sporting Director Stuart Webber at Norwich and had made no secret of his own desire to move into the same role one day.
Speaking ahead of the appointment, Boro boss Neil Warnock told Talksport: “I’m not going to be working (here in) 10 years so they have to look forward to the future so that doesn’t bother me.
“They have to think what’s right for the club and then look forward to how they are going to sustain it.
“Everyone is looking for something different and they’ve decided to go down that way. We’ll have to see what happens and he’s a good bloke apparently from what I’ve heard.
“He’s coming in from Norwich City and he has a good idea about the long-term planning.”
