ROBIN SADLER has been appointed Head of Rehabilitation and Physiotherapy by Manchester United.

At the end of last month, TGG reported that Sadler was leaving Derby County, where he was Head Physio, after four years to join another club. His replacement with the Rams was John Hartley, who had previously worked for Aston Villa for nine years.

United said Sadler's role was “a new position” and would involve overseeing “service provision for first team, Academy and Women’s teams.”

Richard Merron has been United’s Head Physio since September 2017, when he replaced Neil Hough, and will continue to work with the first team.

Before joining Derby in December 2016, Sadler was a physio at Manchester City for 16-and-a-half years.
