ADAM SADLER, who was Leicester City’s tactical analyst just eight months ago, has been put in temporary charge of first-team affairs at the club along with goalkeeper coach Mike Stowell.

The move follows the sacking of manager Claude Puel and assistant Jacques Bonnevay on Sunday following a run of four straight defeats and one win in seven. Sadler and Stowell are expected to be in charge for the games against Brighton at home on Tuesday and Sunday's trip to Watford, while the club look to make a permanent appointment.

Sadler, 39, was promoted to the role of first team coach by the club in June following four years as their tactical analyst.

The former Manchester United youth player holds the Uefa Pro Licence and has a strong coaching pedigree. He was reserve team boss at his hometown club of Newcastle, first team coach at Norwich and Plymouth Argyle, Under-18s coach at Manchester City and U21s coach at Ukrainian side Tavriya Simferopol before joining Leicester in 2014.

Stowell has already been in caretaker charge of the club four times. After retiring from playing in 2005, having made 453 senior appearances, he joined Leicester as goalkeeping coach.

He was promoted to assistant manager before being sacked alongside Rob Kelly in 2007, but then quickly reinstated as goalkeeper coach under Martin Allen. Stowell was given the added title of first team coach by the Foxes under Nigel Pearson.
