Partridge leaving Liverpool to join Qatar national team
Partridge was a player for Liverpool for eight years

LIVERPOOL physio Richie Partridge is leaving the club in March to work for the Qatar national team.
The 39-year-old is in his ninth full-time season at Anfield and has a long association with the club.
He joined them as a trainee in 1997 and played three League Cup games, as well as representing the Republic of Ireland at Under-21 level, before leaving in 2005 to join Sheffield Wednesday.
When he was still a player, Partridge began to train as a physio, gaining first-class honours at Salford University and then an MSc in football rehabilitation at Edge Hill University.
He returned part-time to Liverpool as an Academy physio, before getting a full-time position in 2011. Five years later, he was promoted to the first team. In Qatar, he will be based at the renowned Aspatar facility.
Liverpool’s medical department has undergone significant change in recent months, with Head of Medical Andy Massey due to leave at the end of March to take a job with Fifa, and Gary O’Driscoll coming in from Arsenal to replace him.
Lee Nobes was appointed Head Physio at the end of 2018 following the exit of Matt Konopinski, who is now with Rangers.
