SPEAKERS
David Court is Men's Player Identification Lead for the England and Wales Cricket Board, overseeing the scouting and analysis functions for England, England Lions and England Young Lions. Prior to joining the ECB in March 2020, he was Talent ID and Performance Education Lead for the Football Association, responsible for designing learning programmes for Sporting Directors, Heads of Recruitment and scouts.
Ian Yates is Global Head of Recruitment for Right to Dream, who own Danish club FC Nordsjaelland and Academies in Ghana, Egypt and the USA. Their motto is 'excellence can be found anywhere.' Ian is a leading expert on talent identification and development. Before joining Right to Dream in 2021, he was Head of the National Performance Pathway for the LTA, Performance Pathway Manager for British Cycling and a talent scientist with the English Institute of Sport. He was also a youth coach at Preston North End and Tranmere Rovers.
Dean Austin is the Head of Recruitment at Championship side Coventry City. He is highly experienced in coaching, recruitment and leadership roles. Prior to joining the Sky Blues, Austin was Director of Football at St Albans. He has also been assistant at Watford, manager at Northampton Town and first-team coach at Crystal Palace. As a player, he made almost 500 senior appearances, with more than half of those coming for Tottenham and Palace.
Kevin Braybrook is a former professional footballer and UEFA Pro Licence coach who has held coaching, scouting and recruitment positions at clubs including Southampton, Liverpool, Newcastle United and Wolves. He is currently Head of Scouting and Recruitment for the South of England for Stockport County and Course Leader for the BSc (Hons) Football Studies Course at Southampton Solent University. At the Webinar he will be speaking on behalf of the PFSA, for whom he is a Lead Tutor.
Marijn Beuker is Director of Football Operations at Scottish Championship table-toppers Queen's Park. Prior to this he was Sport Development Director at Dutch side AZ Alkmaar, helping them challenge the bigger and more illustrious names in the Eredivisie. During his 15 seasons with AZ, Beuker developed a reputation as a true innovator and disruptor. He was our guest on Episode #23 of the TGG Podcast - one of the most popular to date.
Liam Bailey is a Performance Data Analyst at SkillCorner, the Paris-based company at the forefront of multi-format video tracking for sport. Liam works with football clubs and federations to derive insights and develop reports based on SkillCorner’s tracking data. Liam first worked in sports data analytics during his undergraduate degree at Edinburgh Napier University and is a keen youth coach at Edinburgh United FC. Liam will be introduced by Craig Inness, who is Business Development Manager at SkillCorner and a former first-team analyst with Brighton and Norwich City.
Simon Cooper was Head of Academy Recruitment at Blackburn Rovers from 2018 to 2021, when homegrown players formed a major part of the senior side. He then became Head of Academy Recruitment & Operations (15s to 19s) at Stoke City. Simon has a strong background in coaching, having worked at Manchester City's Academy and as Head of Coaching at Oldham. He holds the Uefa A Licence, the Advanced Youth Award and the FA's Level 4 in Talent Identification. At the webinar he will be presenting on 'the 12 key components of Academy recruitment.'
Joe McClaren is Head of Football Operations at New Era Global Sports Management, who represent players including Ben Godfrey and Michael Keane. Previously, Joe was Head of Recruitment at Derby County (2016 to 2022), National Emerging Talent Scout at Southampton (2015/2016) and Lead Technical Scout at FC Twente in Holland (2012/2013).
Glyn Chamberlain has huge experience in scouting and recruitment. He was Head of European Scouting at Blackburn Rovers (2020/21) and Head of Scouting at Cardiff City (2017-2019) and Burnley (2013 to 2017). Before this he had a career as a player and then a coach. Glyn is currently working as in first-team recruitment at Derby County.
Andy Burton is the founder and CEO of Gen-Z Sports & Media Group, which represents footballers in the men’s and women’s games. After a 20-year career in sports journalism, Andy made the switch to club football in 2016, spending four years at AFC Bournemouth as a Senior Recruitment Consultant. He was also Technical Director at Dundalk FC in 2018/19 and is a candidate on the FA’s Level 5 Technical Director’s programme.
Simon Wilson is the Director of Football at Stockport County. The ambitious club were promoted back to the Football League after an 11-year absence last season after winning the National League. He has previously worked for Sunderland (as Chief Football Officer), Manchester City (Director of Football Services) and Southampton (Head of Analysis).
