Norwich appoint Weaver as Head of Academy

STEVE WEAVER has been appointed as the new Head of Academy at Norwich - but his arrival has not been officially announced because of the terms of Stuart Webber’s departure from Huddersfield.
Weaver, who left Huddersfield on August 3rd, has already held introductory meetings with his staff at Norwich. However, under the terms of Sporting Director Webber’s exit from Huddersfield in April, he was not permitted to take any Terriers' staff with him for a six month period.
That moratorium does not end until October 4th. Norwich refused to comment on the story when contacted by TGG.
Huddersfield allowed Webber to leave without serving his full notice period, but did impose the moratorium on him recruiting any of his former staff for six months.
This is standard practice when senior staff leave businesses. Weaver has replaced Richard Money, who left Norwich in the middle of August by mutual consent.
The 44-year-old has previously worked with Webber at Huddersfield, Wolves and Wrexham. Since Webber joined the Canaries in April, he has replaced every head of department - sports science, recruitment, coaching and academy - barring physiotherapy.
