CHRIS NEVILLE has left his role as Head of Athletic Performance at relegated Blackburn Rovers.
Neville, who joined the club in January 2013, said he was leaving to “pursue other opportunities.”
“All good things come to an end and after four-and-a-half years at Blackburn Rovers it is time to move on,” he wrote in a statement.
“Blackburn Rovers is a great club, steeped in history and with some excellent players, staff and fans. I am sure the club will move forward and challenge for promotion over the next few seasons. It has been an honour to have been a small part of Blackburn Rovers and I would like to thank my friends and colleagues for putting up with me over my time there and wish everyone success in future.
“However, I am now looking forward to developing new and exciting challenges over the next few years.”
The club added: “Blackburn Rovers would like to thank Chris for all his efforts and wish him well for the future.”
Neville joined Rovers eight months after they were relegated to the Championship in the 2011/12 season. He was previously a Conditioning Coach for the Football Association and spent 12 years as a Strength and Conditioning Coach at Portsmouth.
Rovers became the first Premier League champions to be relegated to the third tier of English football last season.
