DAVID MOSS, Celtic’s former head of recruitment, has been named as Huddersfield’s Head of Football Operations.
He replaces Stuart Webber, who left to join Norwich City in April. Moss had an 11-year professional playing career, in England, Wales and Scotland, at clubs including Falkirk and Swansea City.
And he has extensive coaching and recruitment experience, including roles as first-team Scout and Academy Director at Crystal Palace and Swansea City. While at Celtic, Moss identified and recruited French striker Moussa Dembele from Fulham for £450,000 in 2016. The striker is now valued at £40million.
Croatia Under-21 captain Jozo Simunovic was another notable piece of business, arriving from Dinamo Zagreb.
Huddersfield owner Dean Hoyles and CEO Julian Winter have been astute in transforming the club from Championship strugglers to a Premier League outfit. The Director of Football Operations role has been crucial to this.
It was first filled by Ross Wilson, now at Southampton, who cemented the right people, processes and way of working on the football side of the club.
