JAMES McCARRON, the Head of Sports Science and Medicine for Manchester City Women for the last three years, has been appointed Sporting Director of Belgian side Lommel SK.

The 35-year-old has worked for City Women since December 2018, having previously been Elite Performance Manager at the Premier League and Head of Academy Performance at Sunderland.

Second Division side Lommel are part of the City Football Group stable of clubs, having been bought out in May 2020. Mike Green, the former Head of City in the Community, has been their Chief Executive since February.

Last week some of City’s senior executives visited Lommel ahead of the Champions League match against Brugge, while players Gabriel Jesus and Emerson attended their league match against Mouscron last Sunday.
