MATT KONOPINSKI is set to leave the Football Association after a year to be reunited with Steven Gerrard at Rangers.

The duo worked together when Rangers boss Gerrard was a player at Liverpool and Konopinski was a physio there. Konopinski would join a number of other former Liverpool colleagues at Rangers.

Jordan Milson, who was rehab fitness coach with Liverpool’s Academy, is now Head of Performance for the Scottish giants; Gary McAllister (ex Liverpool first team coach) is assistant at Ibrox; Michael Beale (foundation phase lead at Liverpool) is first team-coach; and Tom Culshaw, (assisted Gerrard with Liverpool’s U18s) is Rangers' Technical Coach.

Konopinski joined Liverpool from Barnsley in 2008 and initially worked with their Academy before being promoted to the first team a few months later. In November 2017, he replaced Andy Renshaw as Head Physio at Anfield, but left last September to become physio for the England Under-18 and U21 teams.

Most recently he has been working with England U19s. Although he was Head Physio at Liverpool, Konopinski focused on rehab and was not part of their team on match days.
