Henry steps down from Head of Performance role at Ipswich

IPSWICH TOWN Head of Athletic Performance and Sport Science Jim Henry has moved back to Scotland for personal reasons and will take on a new consultancy role with the club.
Henry moved to Ipswich with manager Paul Lambert in October 2018, having previously worked with him at Stoke City - as well as when he was a player at Celtic. The Scottish practitioner - a former judo international - is highly experienced, having previously worked at Aston Villa, Sunderland and Rangers.
Lee O’Neill, Town’s General Manager of Football Operations, said: “I spoke to Jim recently and we agreed that for personal reasons it would be beneficial for him to return home to Scotland.
“Jim is vastly experienced and we will continue to use that knowledge over the rest of the season but it will now be in more of a consultancy role.”
Local media has reported that Henry had had disagreements with Lambert in recent weeks, resulting in his absence from Town's last two games at Portman Road, where he would usually have led the early stages of the warm-up.
Although Ipswich sit sixth in League One, they have lost their last two matches convincingly - 3-0 away to Hull and 2-0 at home to Charlton.
