ANOTHER long-serving and important member of Burnley’s backroom staff was sacked along with manager Sean Dyche and his three assistants yesterday.

Head Physio Alasdair Beattie left the Lancashire club after 12 years, although, for some reason, there was no mention of him in the club’s statement yesterday.

Beattie joined the Clarets in July 2010 under previous manager Brian Laws, having previously worked in the medical departments at Spurs (for 12 years) and Manchester City (for five).

By our calculations, that makes it 14 members of staff who have left the Premier League club since the leveraged buy-out by ALK Capital in December 2020. You can see the full list at the bottom of the page.

Martin Hodge, the Head of Recruitment and Scouting, also exited shortly after the close of the January transfer window.

Burnley have put a four-man team of Academy Director Paul Jenkins, transition goalkeeper coach Connor King, Under-23s boss Mike Jackson and club captain Ben Mee in charge for tomorrow’s Premier League game against West Ham.

Chairman Alan Pace has said he is in the process of appointing a new manager. Mike Rigg has not been replaced as Technical Director after leaving last August, although Jenkins has been an advisor to ALK since their takeover of the club.

FOOTBALL STAFF TO HAVE DEPARTED SINCE ALK TAKEOVER:

  • Manager: Sean Dyche
  • Assistant: Ian Woan
  • Goalkeeper coaches: Billy Mercer and Fabian Otte
  • First-team coaches: Steve Stone and Tony Loughlan
  • Technical Director: Mike Rigg
  • Academy Manager: Jon Pepper
  • Media Managers: Darren Bentley and Pete Oliver
  • Sport Scientist: Ronan Kavanagh
  • S&C coach: Tom Short
  • Head Physio: Ally Beattie
  • Head of Recruitment: Martin Hodge
