SEAN LUNDON has been promoted to Head of Academy Coaching at Everton.

The 48-year-old replaces Dave Adams, who had a short and ill-fated spell in the role earlier this year. Weeks after being recruited from Swansea City, Adams departed following the departure of the man who had appointed him, Academy Director Peter Vint.

Adams is now first-team coach at Middlesbrough, where he is reunited with ex-Swansea boss Garry Monk.

Lundon, who played 56 games for Chester City as a player, worked in the pharmaceutical industry before joining Everton as lead coach of the Under-9 to 16 age group in 2007.

He led the audit process that resulted in the Toffees' Academy being awarded EPPP status in 2012.
