Dyche will have first and last say on all signings - Rigg

NEW Burnley Technical Director Mike Rigg says manager Sean Dyche will still have the first and last say on all signings at the club.

Rigg, 49, was appointed a fortnight ago and one of his main remits will be to oversee recruitment and analysis at the club.

However, the former Fulham and Manchester City man insists Dyche will never have a player “forced upon” him.

“I very much work on ‘first and last’,” Rigg told the club’s official website. “Sean has the first say - what do we want, where do we want it and when - and he has the last choice.

“It’s really important that everybody understands that within the departments. My job is to pull the departments together so we have more than enough options to sit down with Sean so he says ‘that’s the player I want’.

“There will never be a player that’s brought into the club while I’m here as Technical Director that will be forced upon Sean. This is one of the things people misunderstand about the role of the Technical Director.

“My job is not to pick the players. My job is to make sure he has enough options to choose from.”
