STEVE DAVIS has been appointed to the new role of Player Pathways Manager by Wolves.

The 57-year-old took caretaker charge of the first team following the sacking of Bruno Lage on October 2nd. The last of his seven games in charge was the 2-0 defeat at home by Arsenal on November 12th before he handed over the reins to Julen Lopetegui two days later.

Davis then went back to his permanent role of Under-18s Head Coach, which he has held since January 2020.

Writing on LinkedIn, the former Crewe manager said: “I’m delighted and excited to announce my new role of Player Pathways Manager at Wolverhampton Wanderers. The first ever appointment for the club to link the first team and Academy. A role which will evolve I’m sure and which will challenge me in different ways.”

James McPike will continue as interim U18s Head Coach while the club look to make a permanent appointment.
