SIMON DAVIES has been promoted to replace Dean Rastrick as Academy Director at Tottenham.

The Welshman, who captained Manchester United’s famous 1992 FA Youth Cup winning team, joined Spurs as Head of Methodology last summer.

He previously worked for Manchester City’s Academy for eight years, as Under-23s assistant to Patrick Vieira, U23s Lead and Head of Coaching.

In May 2019 he left City to become Vincent Kompany’s assistant at Anderlecht - and was promoted to Head Coach himself for a brief period himself.

He replaces Rastrick, who it was announced was leaving Tottenham after 13 years earlier this month.
