Bruce brings three staff into West Brom - including son Alex

NEW manager Steve Bruce has taken three staff with him into West Brom - including his son Alex.

The 61-year-old was confirmed as the new Baggies boss on an 18-month contract yesterday (Thursday February 3rd). As expected, he brought in Stephen Clemence and Steve Agnew - who were both with him at Aston Villa, Sheffield Wednesday and Newcastle - as his assistants.

However, one new addition to his son was his son Alex, who completed his Uefa A Licence with the Northern Ireland FA last September. Bruce Jnr played under his father at Birmingham and Hull - and did some scouting for Newcastle United during his two-and-a-half years as manager there.

Bruce Snr succeeded Valérien Ismaël as boss and the Baggies will be the 11th club of his managerial career. First-team coach James Morrison, who was promoted to the role under Sam Allardyce in December 2020, will remain on the Baggies staff.

So too will goalkeeper coach Gary Walsh, who joined under Darren Moore in January 2019 and has previously worked under Bruce at Villa.
