BLACKBURN’S Head of European Scouting, Glyn Chamberlain, is leaving the club after 18 months, TGG can reveal.

The Championship outfit have decided not to renew the 63-year-old’s contract, which expires on August 13th.

Chamberlain is hugely experienced, having previously been Head of Scouting at Cardiff City and Head of UK and International Scouting at Burnley, as well as having been a player, coach and manager during four decades in the game.

He was interim Head of Recruitment at Rovers after Stuart Harvey left to join Sunderland in April. John Park subsequently joined from Legia Warsaw to take the job on a permanent basis.

Blackburn are yet to make any signings since the end of 2020/21, despite 11 leaving (five loans and six free transfers).

CEO Steve Waggott and Operations and Management Consultant Suhail Shaikh are in charge of the day-to-day running of the club.

As TGG revealed earlier in the week, Rovers' Head of Academy Recruitment, Simon Cooper, is leaving to join Stoke City in the same role, while Under-23s lead Billy Barr has been appointed assistant manager at Salford City.
