Barrett leaving Hull City to join Playermaker

SENIOR Sports Scientist Steve Barrett is leaving Hull City after five years to join wearable technology firm Playermaker.
Barrett, who joined Hull in December 2014, has been appointed Director of Sport Science and Research Innovation by the Israeli start-up.
Playermaker collects and analyses physical and technical data via sensors attached to a player’s boots. You can read more about the technology in this article we wrote about the firm in August 2019.
Arsene Wenger is an investor in the company, which raised $10m in Series B funding from Singapore venture capital firm FengHe Group shortly before Christmas.
As well as working in both the Premier League and Championship with Hull, Barrett spent almost six years as a performance coach with the Football Association, assisting the England Women’s Under-23, U20 and U18 teams.
