ARSENAL Under-23 Head Coach Kevin Betsy has been appointed manager of League Two Crawley Town, with U18s boss Dan Micciche as his assistant.
Betsy has joined Crawley on an initial two-year contract, having spent the last season with Arsenal. Prior to his time at Hale End, the 44-year-old spent five years with the Football Association, working with England's U15s, 16s, 17s and 18s.
Micciche has worked for the Gunners since December 2018, starting with the 15s and going on to lead the 16s and then18s.
Like Betsy, he has also coached England's age group teams, working with the 15s and 16s. He also has experience of managing at first-team level, with MK Dons for four months in 2018.
Betsy said: “Following discussions, l knew I would be working for bright and genuine people that share the positivity and energy to take this club forward. I will work extremely hard and put my heart and soul into every single day to help make us successful.
“Together, we can look to Crawley Town to be a club that people enjoy coming to watch and that players and staff love coming to work every day. Crawley will be a positive place to bring our local community together and attract the next generation of supporters globally to the club.
“I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Arsenal, all of the staff and players for a wonderful time at the club. The club has been first class in how things have been conducted and allowing me to take this chance to progress myself with the opportunity at Crawley Town.”
Lewis Young, who has been assistant manager at the club since March, will remain on the coaching staff. Further appointments will be made “in due course.”
