From 2013 to 2019 he was Director of Performance Analysis for German Bundesliga team St Pauli, working on match analysis and scouting, research and new technology.
Brand, who is United’s Head of First Team Analysis, has been at Old Trafford since 2013. Kevin Keij came in with manager Erik ten Hag in the summer as first-team performance analyst, while Luke Lazenby, Tom Green and Rob Page are the other analysts on the staff.
